Just when I thought I was over the Rickrolling meme, this happened: MTV allowed users to vote online for whoever they wanted as ‘the best act ever‘. MTV forgot that there are nerds out there who will happily vote all day for whoever they think that the anonymous collective would rather win. The slightly smarter nerds amongst us of course build something like the RickVoter. This allows anyone to automatically vote a load of times for Mr. Astley.

Sure. This isn’t really in the spirit of things but fuck it; It’s MTV. Lets look at who they suggest as best act ever:

• Celebrity car-crash: Britney ‘we should trust our president’ Spears
• #1 Britney Spears tribute act: Christina Aguilera
• 32 year old, teenage-angst mongers: Greenday
• Effects pedal obsessed “tink of teh childrun” idiots: U2
• Tokio Hotel. Okay, I have no idea who they are but their spelling of capital cities is awful.

Yup. I think this is one award that Newton-le-Willows finest honestly deserves.
